L'Oreal Age Perfect Foundation And Concealer Review

I wear 2 kinds of foundation throughout the year, a dewy foundation during Spring and Summer and a natural finish foundation during Fall and Winter. I love L'Oreal foundations, they've always been super reliable when it comes to my acne prone skin. I never break out using the brand. Wearing makeup is part of my self care routine and it certainly helps when you can trust that your skin won't freak out when wearing cosmetic products. It took me a while to let go of my Summer foundation, because who doesn't love a nice tan - but then L'Oreal launched their Age Perfect makeup and skin care in Belgium and I was excited to switch it up. This range of foundation has been specifically designed for people with mature skin. I don't have mature skin but what I do have is a passion for anti-ageing and avoiding any kind of makeup that sinks into fine lines. I purchased the L'Oreal Age Perfect foundation in 130 Golden Ivory and the Age Perfect concealer in Light. Here are my thoughts.

L'Oreal Age Perfect Concealer

My first reaction to wearing and trying the Age Perfect foundation and concealer was - this stuff is amazing. My skin actually looked like it had the Paris Instagram story filter on it. Flawless.

L’Oreal Age Perfect foundation review

If I had known before hand that this was a cream foundation, I probably wouldn't have bothered to buy it. A formula like that combined with my skin type has never worked out for me in the past. It would latch on to dry patches and even ball up in certain places, an absolute mess really. This cream foundation is different, it makes your skin look super smooth and the product blends like butter. I do find myself really pressing it into the pores of my nose, but that isn't something I haven't done before with makeup. I love that I can wear this with many different kind of primers, such as facial oils, makeup setting sprays and mattifying anti acne moisturisers. It all works. The L'Oreal Age Perfect is also long wearing and does not sink into fine lines. I'm very impressed.

Keep in mind that this foundation contains shimmer. I am so used to wearing L'Oreal foundations that I often forget to mention that a lot of them have shimmer in them. When it comes to the actual shade that I chose, which is the lightest shade I saw available in the shop (I'm usually the lightest shade although I feel like L'Oreal really could go lighter with this one): I would have liked it to live up to it's name more, 130 Golden Ivory. It is a good match for my skin tone, I just would have preferred for it to be a little yellower. The coverage of this foundation is light to medium. For the purpose of this review, I tried building up the coverage on numerous occasions (even though I usually enjoy and lighter look) and the makeup looks just as beautiful. I wouldn't recommend this foundation if you have very dry skin. I've noticed that on bad skin days it can look a little patchy. In all my years of wearing foundation, there's always some days where your best foundation doesn't do it and this one is no exception. Even though I have acne, I'm not the kind of person who wears makeup to cover up breakouts or scars, if anything I just enjoy having skin that is more evened out,  radiant and healthy looking - this foundation does just that.

L’Oreal Age Perfect Radiant concealer review

If you're looking to try a new liquid concealer, the L'Oreal Age Perfect Concealer is definitely worth it if you love a natural, light coverage look. Also this product, I'm pretty positive, contains shimmer. I like that the shade Light has a beautiful yellow undertone. It certainly illuminates and brightens your complexion. I find myself using it all over my face quite often, as if it were a light coverage foundation, when I can't be bothered to do a full face. The product is long lasting and doesn't sink or bunch up into fine lines. I can definitely see myself repurchasing this concealer again. If I had to choose between purchasing the foundation or the concealer, the Age Perfect Radiant concealer would be my first choice. The product is easy to blend, makes your skin look beautiful and is ideal for quick and easy 5 minute makeup looks, as it doesn't even require a makeup base - it can perfectly function without one.
