Ever since I started struggling with acne I've been having a lot of trouble finding a good moisturiser that doesn't make my skin break out or cause some kind of irritation. Even the ones targeted for acne prone skin aren't that great of a fit for me, in fact, they usually just make my skin situation so much worse. The Embryolisse moisturiser is a product I've always heard great things about - especially that it's a must have in the kit of a lot of makeup artists, mostly used as a makeup primer. As someone who does suffer from acne but doesn't necessarily have oily skin this seemed like something I should try. Because the brand Embryolisse is not that readily available here, I decided to order mine on Boozyshop. Here's what I think about it.
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré: what is it for?
The Embryolisse moisturiser is a creme formulated for all skin types that does not have 1 or 2 or 3 purposes - but 4. It can be used as simple moisturiser, a makeup primer, a cleanser and a face mask. The team at the Embryolisse laboratories advises you to - 'apply a small amount on clean, dry skin in the morning as a makeup base or a moisturiser. Use generously as a cleanser both morning and evening or as a moisturising mask by applying a thick layer.' You guessed it, the main goal of this product is to moisturise your skin and make it supple and soft. How I used the cream
I simply needed a moisturiser and a makeup primer. I bought a 30 ml tube for the price of €10.95 and used it for a week straight as a part of my skin care routine and my every makeup. It made my makeup look absolutely flawless. The cream itself is just as thick as a regular moisturiser but blends in as if it were some kind of thin gel. It's an interesting consistency. I wouldn't say it's actually liquid, which is something I've seen mentioned in many other reviews. It absorbs nicely into the skin and leaves it very soft and hydrated. I wouldn't recommend it for those of you with an oily skin type because this is definitely a product that you can feel on your skin and that leaves a little bit of glow at the end of the day. The scent of this cream however isn't something I'm very enthusiastic about. It smells very herbal-like, quite flowery and also a bit grandma-ish. Not a fan.
My final thoughts
I like the Embryolisse moisturiser but it did start to irritate my skin after a while. I usually only get acne in my t-zone and around my hair line but this time I also had a bunch of little red dots covering my cheeks. I immediately stopped using the the cream and the dots disappeared soon after that. It's unfortunate that the cream didn't work out for me but I wouldn't say it's a bad product. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone suffering from acne or that has an oily skin type but if you have normal skin I think this would work great for you. I didn't have to use my (rather expensive) Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray when I used this Lait Crème Concentré. My makeup didn't need a final boost or pick me up using this product, at all. I was very impressed. Even though this product doesn't claim to be non pore clogging or non comedogenic I still wanted to give it a shot. If you have any recommendations for me when it comes to moisturisers or makeup primers definitely don't hesitate to let me know!
I've never heard this brand, thanks for your review!!
