NEW Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Review

Urban Decay has a couple of new products in their makeup line: the UD Troublemaker Mascara, which has been making headlines pretty much everywhere ever since it launched as it claims to be sex proof, and 2 new vice lipsticks with a cream finish: Backseat and Roach. This past Summer I had the amazing opportunity to work together with Urban Decay Belgium for the launch of their newest palette and that's where I also learned more about their lipsticks. I have another Vice lipstick with a metallized finish, in the shade Scorched, and I absolutely love the formula, which is pretty surprising in my case since I seem to have a problem with most high end lipstick formulations. Today I want to know if I like this new cream Vice lipstick just as much as their metallized one.

NEW Essence Fresh & Fit Primer Review

Essence Fresh & Fit Primer And Foundation

Another day, another blog post, another Essence Cosmetics review! This time we're going to talk about their newest face primer: the Essence Fresh & Fit Awake Primer. I think I've pretty much bought every single primer Essence has released over the past 5 years, the packaging on this one however is probably my favorite. A makeup primer is usually used underneath foundation to create a smooth surface, even out your skin tone and to make sure your foundation performs at its very best. Let's have a look!

Day In The Life Of A Stay At Home Girlfriend

Day in the life of a stay at home girlfriend

I very much avoid googling the term 'stay at home girlfriend' (SAHG) - mostly because every search result you come across isn't very uplifting. SAHGs are described as having absolutely no passions, as women who are lazy and have no desire to contribute to society. Women whose only goal in life is to please their boyfriend, so he keeps on paying the(ir) bills. I've also read that being a SAHG, apparently, is a 'career choice' now, an 'I do nothing' one. I am a SAHG and I am none of the above. Welcome to my life.

Primark Just Peachy Eyeshadow Palette

Primark Just Peachy Eyeshadow Palette

Primark has yet another limited edition collection available in their stores! Peach is, hands down, the makeup color of the moment and Primark Beauty decided to release their very own twist on a 'peachy' palette featuring an array of beautiful warm eyeshadows. Having tried multiple Primark makeup palettes in the past I was very excited about this collection. The packaging they have chosen for this line is beyond cute and the peachy scent of the products is just a great little touch. I chose to review the Just Peachy Eyeshadow Palette. If you are interested there also is a Cheeky Peachy Blush & Highlight Palette available, Perfect Shine lipglosses, Perfect Shine nail polishes and Peachy Keen Lip Souffles. Let's have a look!

Why I'm Quitting Youtube For A While

I'd never thought I'd go this long without uploading a Youtube video. A lot of you, I'm sure, are a little confused and probably wonder why - but if it's to any consolation, I am also wondering why. I love making and posting content on Youtube, I really do, but for the past few months a lot of anxiety has been attached to all the filming and the planning. So much so that at some point, as you have noticed, I just stopped filming entirely.

Essence Moonlight Eyes Review

Essence Moonlight Eyes Cream Eyeshadow Review

I couldn't be more pleased with Essence Cosmetics, their newest collection has absolutely slayed my existence and I cannot wait to review more and more of their makeup products on my blog. Today we have the Moonlight Eyes Cream Eyeshadow on display! The reason why I mostly only review one shade of each makeup item at a time is because (I'm not on their PR list haha and) I'm not always familiar with how Essence formulates some products. I try and use a lot of Essence products but I tend to get stuck using my favorites such as their lipsticks, blushes, etc. so I usually start with one and then either decide to buy more or fewer products depending on how the makeup works out for me. Essence has 4 Moonlight Cream Eyeshadows: 01 Angel, 02 doll face, 03 cosmic and 04 gilded.

Hair Care Staples You Need When You're Too Anxious To Go To The Hairdresser

LOreal Serie Expert Inforcer Review

Is your hair in need of a serious pick-me-up? Mine definitely was, it had been looking really sad actually. I've been an anxious mess for a while and a trip to the hairdresser just isn't something that I'd enjoy right now. I'd love to freshen up my look but the thought of me having to walk into a salon is just terrifying, so I've been trying to switch up the products I use. Back in July I received a beautiful PR parcel by L'Oreal Pro and I've been trying their newest Serie Expert Inforcer hair care line ever since. There are 3 products that really stood out to me that I'd love to talk to you about as they have been a great help to revive my tired and lifeless locks. Let's have a look!

Tanya Burr Illuminating Powders Review

Tanya Burr Illuminating Powders Review

I recently went on a day trip to London and as a Belgian beauty blogger you can imagine that I was absolutely determined to find some makeup items that I had never seen or touched before! At the Superdrug in Oxford Street my eye fell on Tanya Burr Cosmetics, it was a small display but there were a lot of very cute products. I was drawn to the Illuminating Powders from the 'Chasing The Sun' collection, after a couple of swatches I was sold and purchased 2: Champagne sorbet and Warm bronzeChampagne sorbet being the lighter one and Warm bronze being the darkest shade. Let's have a look!

The Ordinary Skin Care Worth The Hype?

The Ordinary Skin Care Review

I'm sure you've all seen this skin care brand already in your Instagram feed: The Ordinary. Everyone is talking about it, it's received numerous beauty awards and, from what I've seen, beauty bloggers have been writing glowing reviews about it. I initially thought this was a luxury skin care line, mainly because of the sleek white and black packaging but boy was I wrong, it's actually quite affordable! I've recently had some issues with acne and because I've had clear skin my whole life, I wasn't sure what to do. Drugstore products weren't really doing it for me so after struggling for a while I decided to place an order on Deciem, the mother company of The Ordinary. Even though many products have waiting lists, I received my order only days after I did my online shopping!

Mental Health: Letting Go Of Bad Coping Habits & Finding New Healthy Ones

I don't think many of you know this but I used to be a smoker, a heavy duty one. At the end of this year it will be my very first time that I'm actually completely smoke free! I 'quit' a long time ago, in fact I don't even quite remember when (I think 2013) but let me explain. I was 16 when I started, out of pure curiosity, I was growing up, trying to find my place in the world. Smoking was the cool thing to do, my parents did it, more than half my classmates, my boyfriend, everyone. It took me a long time to figure out that I was actually attempting to smoke away my worries. If I'd feel the need to cry, I'd just smoke. If I were anxious, annoyed or even having the smallest of mental breakdowns, I would just smoke. At 22 I was close to smoking 2 packs a day, one during the day and one at night, when I would go out for drinks or go clubbing. Kind of insane, I know but here's why: It took me a long time to figure out that it's okay to feel

When You Doubt Your Own Trauma

It's been happening a lot lately, that I doubt my own trauma, that I just don't know anymore. That I am unsure whether what happened in my childhood caused me to be like I am today. I compare myself to others and often wonder how it was possible for everything to affect me so much. That despite all the suffering many people around me, who've also had a tough life, still manage to function like a normal human being. Yet, I suffer from depression and anxiety, I am unable to live my life because I saw, heard and was told things that weren't okay. When I think about trauma, violence - of any kind - is the first thing that comes up in my mind, but that is not what happened to me. It was subtle and it was bad. Or that's what I'm told.

The Fenty Beauty Foundation Dupe

Fenty Beauty Foundation Dupe

I know, I can't quite believe it either. The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage is the Fenty Beauty Foundation dupe?! I haven't talked about Fenty Beauty on my blog just yet (I'm planning to) but Catrice Cosmetics for me is very familiar territory. I have tried and purchased many of their foundations and this HD Liquid Coverage makeup in particular was a big hit for Catrice. From the many reviews that I have seen of the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation and from taking a look at the ingredients and where this formula was manufactured, this Catrice foundation might just be an absolute match.

L'Oreal Infallible Eye Paints Review

If there's one kind of eyeshadow that I have been using non-stop over the past weeks it's these brand new L'Oreal Eye Paints. I kindly received 3 Eye Paints and one Eye Paint primer, in a beautiful PR package, and they've been on my 'awesome makeup to review' list ever since. These eyeshadows are unlike anything I have ever used before, and if you like no fuss makeup you absolutely want to hear what I have to say!

Essence Ultra Last Instant Colour Lipstick

Essence Ultra Last Instant Colour Lipstick

Essence Cosmetics revamped their entire lipstick range and added 20 new shades to their permanent makeup collection of 2017: the Essence Ultra Last Instant Colour Lipsticks. Essence lipsticks have always been a passion of mine. Ever since they released their Longlasting Lipsticks back in 2014, I've pretty much purchased every single one the brand has ever created. The formula of their lipsticks is truly outstanding and there was no way I was going to miss out on this new collection.

My Anxie-Tea Stash⎪Tea To Beat Anxiety

Tea To Treat Anxiety

I'm not a doctor, nor am I a psychiatrist, herbalist or therapist, but I do know first hand what depression and anxiety can do to your mind and to your body, as I've been a long time sufferer and survivor. Tea is a part of my self care routine, my natural medicine to stress, anxiety, mood swings and years ago my go-to home remedy to actually quit smoking and choose for a healthier lifestyle. I recently looked at my anxie-tea stash and realised they actually serve a big purpose in my life, so I wanted to share with you my favorite herbal teas to beat anxiety.

Essence Make Me Glow Liquid Highlighter

I think we can all agree that wearing an enormous amount of highlighter is the trend of 2017. About every cosmetics brand, on the planet, made it their goal to have the most outstanding highlighter product in their makeup line - in the hopes that it will take over every beauty lovers' social media feed. I love a good glow, something subtle that brings shape, dimension and lights up the highest points of my face. I'm not into a super shimmery look, highlighting for me is about taking your makeup to the next level without looking like a disco ball. Essence Cosmetics recently released the Make Me Glow Liquid Highlighter as part of their 2017 Fall/ Winter collection. Let's have a look!

When Social Anxiety Gets The Best Of You

This Summer I declined 3 wedding invitations, 2 of which I was actually excited to go to. Social anxiety got the best of me once again and even though I'm relieved I didn't go, because I don't think I would have been able to practise the amount of appropriate self care, I'm also a bit sad. When I first got the invitations I was very nervous but as time passed that slowly turned into a tiny little bit of excitement. About 2 months before the 'save the dates' I received an Instagram DM from one of the other guests, and my brain decided to go completely haywire - I wasn't going to go anymore.

ZOEVA The Basic Moment Palette Review

I first started using ZOEVA (makeup brushes) years ago when they began working with influencers on Youtube. For once, the many (mostly) American beauty bloggers that I followed and loved so much were raving about a company that was actually based in Europe, Germany to be exact. I then placed an order for a beautiful rose gold eye makeup brush set and I have bought multiple back ups ever since. ZOEVA didn't have as much makeup in their online store yet at that time, today they have more palettes than I can count. As soon as the 'The Basic Moment' blush palette was released I was intrigued. I love the design of the palette and the formula sounded really promising. After looking at some reviews I finally decided to place an order for my birthday. Let's have a look!

NEW Essence Fresh & Fit Foundation Review

Every time Essence releases a new foundation I have to try it. There is no other budget brand in Belgium that is, in my opinion, as affordable and reliable as Essence Cosmetics. I recently purchased a bunch of their new Fall/Winter makeup releases and part of my haul was this Essence Fresh & Fit Awake Makeup Foundation. Fresh & Fit is a new line Essence Cosmetics has created and, from looking just at the packaging of the products so far, everything is looking really promising!

Trying To Get Back Up When Depression Beats You Down

As most of you have noticed I haven't been very active on my social media these past weeks. Where I'm usually able to talk through and about my emotions, by sharing it with all of you, for some reason I can't even bring myself to do that, I'm completely stuck. I feel shame and sadness mostly. Not so long ago I was ready to tell my therapist I only wanted to see her once every other week, and at this very moment I feel like I've been defeated by mental illness once again. I've been trying to scrap my feelings together that, in my head, are dispersed all over the floor and somehow I don't seem to be able to pick them all up. I feel like a mess.

Therapy Update: Regretting Your Past

It's been a long time since I've made a therapy update, mostly because I've been enjoying living my life as a (rather) happy person, but also because I don't really know what to say anymore. I've chatted about this on my Snapchat, that I feel like I'm done talking about my childhood and my upsetting experiences with my therapist. It's not that I think I'm healed from trauma or that I have processed absolutely everything, I'm literally just at a loss for words. Going to therapy for more than a year has truly been the most eye opening experience I've ever had, and I guess I'm just trying to deal with the magnitude of it all. When I think of all the things I have learned, about myself, about family, friends and mental illness in itself, I am relieved but I'm also horrified. I'm slowly but surely quite embarrassed for some of my behaviour and thoughts I've had in the past.

Dear Blogger, Pinterest Is Not A Source

How to blog

Being a blogger I like to be very much aware of the online environment and its constant undergoing changes. Many experiences as a content creator teach you powerful lessons on how the internet works and I think I sometimes overestimate the level of awareness in the blogger community. I'm not a perfect beauty blogger by any means but I thought I'd share with you some things I have come across that are currently doing their rounds on all social media platforms that you, especially if you're a fellow blogger, should know about.

Cause Even A Girl Boss Needs A Break

I usually have my shit together when it comes to my online activities (e.g. blogging 3x a week and uploading on Youtube every Saturday) but for the last month or so not so much. I thought I'd change it up a bit over here and actually talk about why I've been recycling and up-cycling some of my older blogposts, among other things, just to be able to keep everything running smoothly.

Please Stop Stealing My Images

Yesterday I found out yet again that my content was being used without my knowledge or permission by a company with nearly 1 million followers on twitter, half a million on Facebook and not to mention their other social media pages. They took a collage I had assembled with images I had received from a press release and they just bluntly copied the title and the intro of my blogpost and posted it on their site to promote their beauty section. The worst part: my site wasn't linked, meaning I missed out on possibly thousands of potential new readers.

Khloé Kardashian iPhone App Review

Let me start off by saying that I'm not a Kardashian stalker or a crazy super fan, my intent here is to review the KHLOÉ App from a beauty and lifestyle blogger point of view. I like the Kardashians, I like their show and yes I do keep up with them - but just so we are clear - I'm reviewing this just like I would review every other product/item/service on my site. I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts and let you know whether it's worth the subscription or not. My boyfriend surprised me with an iTunes card a couple weeks ago and I immediately knew I wanted to try one of the Kardashian/Jenner apps. Khloé is the one Kardashian sister I've been keeping up with the most lately, ever since her 'Revenge Body' series kicked off, so I decided to go with her app first! Let's have a look.

Why I'm Not a 100K Blogzilla

I've been following online creators since I was 16 years old and today, a decade later (I'm 26), I kinda regret only starting to create my own content about 3 years ago. All the girls I envied when I was a teenager have become successful women now, online icons. While I'm sure they've had many challenges to face and still do, to stand where they are presently, I've been feeling the disadvantages of starting 'late' and being a 'microblogger'. Successful content creators are only becoming more successful and the little ones, like me, are left swimming in the dirt, desperately trying to beat algorithms. Growing your blog 'organically' has very much become a thing from the past and being a blogzilla sells souls. Here's why growing an audience blogging just isn't what it used to be.

The 1 Year Therapy Update

When I look back at some of the things that I wrote on my site about my struggle with depression and anxiety, therapy and mental health, I'm slightly uncomfortable. In many posts I state that I'm 'sober' when it is very apparent I'm in a lot of distress and that I'm hurting. Therapy is a process and a long one. It's also not as straightforward as it is sometimes made out to be in movies, school or society as a whole. It is so much more than just talking about your feelings and your past. It's about coming to the realisation that things were not okay, why they weren't okay and how exactly everything played out the way it did. In my case I'm confronted a lot with the choices my parents made, how I was raised, and it's extremely confusing and painful. So painful in fact that it is making the relationship with my family very difficult. I can't bring myself to pick up their phone calls or even talk to them over text. When my phone rings my eyes widen in fear and I can feel the panic rushing through my veins.
