L'Oreal Cushion Foundation Review

L'Oreal Paris is not a brand I often reach for when it comes to makeup, but they are the first ones to have caught up on the cushion makeup foundation trend around here, so as soon as my drugstore stocked up on this product I just had to try it. I would lie if I said the rave reviews of many beauty bloggers have not intrigued me one little bit. L'Oreal released three different cushion foundations: the True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation, the Nude Magic Cushion Foundation and the Lucent Magique Cushion Lumiere Foundation. I purchased the L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation in shade 03 Vanilla, which is the second to lightest shade of the range (in Belgium). I must say the shade is pretty much a perfect match for my pale skin tone.

Even though this is a liquid foundation the packaging almost screams compact powder and on-the-go makeup staple, it's also very girly and doll-like, I like it. The mix of the bright, reflecting purple and the nude definitely makes a statement. When you open the product you have a great quality mirror and a sponge to tap the product onto your skin. I never used the sponge, when it comes to foundation my go-to tool always is a beauty blender. It gives the most natural and beautiful finish to any foundation. Underneath the sponge is the cap that seals off the cushion to avoid the product from drying up.

The formula of this foundation is amazing. After application your skin looks healthy, hydrated and like it's glowing from the inside out. The foundation is very lightweight and is buildable up to medium coverage. I love the way this looks on my skin, everything is completely and nicely evened out, any little perks still shine through giving it a definite my skin but better effect. The foundation has a nice dewy finish without making your skin look greasy and is long lasting whether you decide to wear it with a primer or not. I really like using my Olaz Beauty Fluid as a base. This is an absolute no makeup makeup must have.

If there's one thing about this foundation that I don't like, it's the fact that I barely got one month of use out of it. This product empties really fast, at first I thought it was because of the way I was using it but I've discovered a lot of people enjoy applying this product with a damp beauty blender. I've never finished a foundation so fast in my life, especially considering I don't wear makeup every single dayThis compact only contains 15 ml of products whilst a regular foundation bottle usually contains 30 ml.

(I accidentally deleted content on my blog not so long ago and in order to restore it I retook some pictures to update some of my articles, I didn't know this compact had dried out so the swatch doesn't look as great as it should, sorry about that.)
