ZOEVA The Basic Moment Palette Review

I first started using ZOEVA (makeup brushes) years ago when they began working with influencers on Youtube. For once, the many (mostly) American beauty bloggers that I followed and loved so much were raving about a company that was actually based in Europe, Germany to be exact. I then placed an order for a beautiful rose gold eye makeup brush set and I have bought multiple back ups ever since. ZOEVA didn't have as much makeup in their online store yet at that time, today they have more palettes than I can count. As soon as the 'The Basic Moment' blush palette was released I was intrigued. I love the design of the palette and the formula sounded really promising. After looking at some reviews I finally decided to place an order for my birthday. Let's have a look!

The first time I used this palette I was very underwhelmed. I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the product and I thought the pigmentation was rather meh. You'd think that because I love natural and neutral makeup that I'd be all over this palette, but it definitely took some time and some thinking. This ZOEVA palette is called 'The Basic Moment' and when I see how my makeup looks, after having used all 3 shades, that is exactly what I see. My makeup looks basic, but good. Every product is super easy to blend and they complement each other beautifully. The contour is perfect, the highlighter is poppin' and the blush is cute. My cheek bones are nicely defined, well shaped and they stand out.

I was however expecting a 'wow' to come out of my mouth when I first played around with this blush palette, I wanted to be amazed and I wasn't. The formula of this trio is rather dry and I was wondering whether I was going to actually like the palette now that I was confronted with how cool toned and matte it is. Somehow, I find that the swatches online look a lot warmer, both on the ZOEVA website and on beauty blogs. Even though I do prefer that powder makeup has a smoothness to it, the pigmentation of this trio is nice and they do exactly what they're supposed to do. I like the combination of all three shades on my cheeks but I'm not sure if this is a palette I will reach for a lot.

It's a great travel kit for sure but that's actually the only excuse I can think of when it comes to motivating myself to use this trio. I had been eyeing this blush palette already for a long time, I love ZOEVA eyeshadow brushes but this purchase is definitely a little disappointing for me. If you, on the other hand, are interested in this product, it retails for only €14.80 on the ZOEVA website, which is definitely a great deal for such a beautiful palette. I also purchased the Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow palette, hopefully I'll have more luck with that one!

  2. Do you recommend this palette for on the go makeup? I'm looking for a palette that I can use on the train when doing my everyday face makeup for school.
