Essence Metal Chrome Blush Review

Essence blushes are my religion, they are the absolute best and there's no denying it. The newest addition from the brand are the Metal Chrome Blushes. They have 3 different shades available and I cannot wait to get my hands on the other two. Today I will be reviewing 30 the beauty and the bronze, which is the darkest shade Essence Cosmetics released. Let's have a look!

To be completely honest, I wasn't really sure what to expect when I first had a look at these blushes in the Essence Cosmetics press release. I know their blushes are always great quality but the name 'metal chrome' was a little bombastic for me. Somehow, I imagined a blush with loads of shimmer and that isn't a look I like to go for. When I placed my Essence Cosmetics order I decided to purchase one anyway, regardless of my doubts, and I have no regrets. This blush only retails for €2.99 and it is gorgeous on the cheeks!

The pigmentation is great and the formula blends out beautifully. It's very soft to the touch and performs pretty much like a baked blush would.  I love the 'metal chrome' effect and it is exactly what Essence promises in their description: a blush infused with superfine reflective pigments to create a flattering healthy glow. When I first applied it on my cheeks it instantly reminded me of my Milani Baked Powder Blush in 05 Luminoso, it has the exact same finish and it pretty much has the same feel to it.

I really like this Metal Chrome blush, the color is definitely dark but it's very fall appropriate and it doesn't look scary on the cheeks at all. I've been wearing this blush non-stop ever since I purchased it and I highly recommend it. I can't believe I'm, once again, super impressed with another Essence Fall/Winter 2017 makeup product and I cannot wait to share more with you! I'm very excited with all of the items of the new collection that I have reviewed so far and I'm in for more.

  1. I have this blush too (and the other two) and have been wearing this one out a LOT. I bought all three of them as soon as they were released (meaning I got '10 my name is gold rosé gold' a little later because the other two got somewhat of a pre-release in a Trend Edition here in Germany), and love them to bits and pieces. But this one most. I can almost forgive Essence now for discontinuing their 'silky touch' blushes. Almost. Not quite. I'm good at holding a grudge. ;p

  2. Ohhh, and good thing you compared it to 'luminoso'. Meaning I can take that one finally off my Amazon wishlist now where it's been sitting since, like, forever.

    1. Haha I feel you, I eventually gave in and was so underwhelmed at first with Luminoso but it is a beautiful blush and these Metal Chromes from Essence are practically the same thing, if not better ;)

  3. Bold statement! :) I do feel like giving this a try, though. Would be the first time shopping Essence.
