How Much I Spent On Makeup This Month #6

July is here, the Summer has started, and we are back with all my receipts from the month of June! How much money did I spend on makeup in June and has there been a change in my spending pattern?! I started this blog series to talk about how much money I invest in cosmetics every month and we have now officially been keeping track of my shopping habits for half a year! I'm a beauty blogger and 6 months ago I decided that I should be confronted with my passion and addiction to makeup. Let's see how much makeup I bought in the month of June!

- Week 1

- Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation €9.99 - after discount - €7.61
- Maybelline Matte Color Sensational Lipstick €11.99

I didn't buy both Maybelline products at once, I got the foundation on a day where I just randomly decided I needed to try it. The Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless is a very popular foundation, so much so that I even dare to say it probably is a cult beauty product. At the moment I am in love with the Fit Me Smooth & Dewy foundation (for dry skin), so I thought it was only about time that I try the matte version! I was very surprised by the results, I hope to review it on my blog soon but if you would like my thoughts on that foundation right now you can check that out on my Youtube channel here. The Maybelline lipstick wasn't a well thought out purchase, I saw a new lipstick display at my drugstore, it looked cool, the lipstick was nude and I love nudes and I just got carried away, you can also find a swatch and a more thorough review about that lippie here.

-Week 2

- Primark PS Cotton Candy Eyes, Lips & Face Palette €6
- Primark PS Blusher €2

It's become a (bad) habit of mine to go shopping at Primark after therapy sessions, it just seems a nice place to decompress, you know? Their makeup displays literally change ALL the time and this week I found a really cute makeup palette. I ended up liking it a lot, especially the blush/highlighters that come with it. You can find a full review and swatches of the Cotton Candy Eyes, Lips & Face palette here.

- Week 3

- Miss Sporty Really Me Stick Foundation €4.49
- Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray €13.90
- KIKO Mini Divas Baked Bronzer €8.95
- NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade €7.20
- Primark Lipstick Organiser €2

On a trip to Eindhoven I expected to spend a lot more on makeup. Some brands that are sold in the Netherlands just aren't as readily available here, but everything I wanted to stock up on was sold out already and I only ended up purchasing the Miss Sporty Really Me Stick Foundation. All the purchases I made afterwards however (back in Belgium), were very impulsive and intense (lol). I found a travel size from Urban Decay's best selling makeup setting spray at ICI Paris XL (a Belgian drugstore)! I'd never tried it before and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I love the spray, it's probably one of the best makeup purchases I made this month, next to my NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade. I'd run out of all my eyebrow staples and I was desperate for some eyebrows. I bought this on a whim and it honestly is the best brow product ever! Read my review about it here. The KIKO Mini Divas Bronzer I have also reviewed on my blog already, and the Primark lipstick organiser I bought so I could use it as a prop in my flatlays. I recently made a post where I revealed all my behind the scenes secrets on how to create the perfect flatlay, I highly recommend you check it out.

- Week 4

- Hema Stippling Brush €4.75
- H&M Beauty Precision Sponge €2.99
- Miss Sporty Perfect Stay 10H  Liquid Concealer €2.99
- Miss Sporty Perfect Stay 10H  Liquid Concealer €2.99 - after discount €1.49

I went on a day trip to Maastricht (can you tell I love the Netherlands?) and purchased the Miss Sporty Concealers I wanted to stock up on in Eindhoven earlier this month. The H&M Beauty Sponge was a recommendation from one of my Snapchatgals, follow me on Snapchat at joliennathalie if you don't already, and the Hema Stippling brush I got because the brand recently revamped their entire brush collection and it seemed like a great deal. I have yet to try it using different makeup products but it looks promising!

Total amount of money spent on makeup this month: €76.36

Total amount of money spent in January €68.23
Total amount of money spent in February €87.21
Total amount of money spent in March €53.47
Total amount of money spent in April €40.91
Total amount of money spent in May €44,28

There's an obvious spike in my expenses and to be honest I'm not sure how it happened but I'm not surprised either. I thought my last few monthly expenses were unusually low. I've also had some lows in my blogging and Youtube game lately (read more about that here) and in June I've definitely been on the lookout for new and exciting products to get my mojo back!

Want to know what I do with my life besides blogging? Take a look on my Youtube, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat all at joliennathalie! I daily vlog, host self care parties, tour my house, cook, declutter, unbox PR packages and show exclusive behind the scenes footage! You're welcome ;)

  3. Not bad at all! I absolutely enjoy reading these from you every month. I think it's about time I keep tabs on mine- especially on Skincare. That scares me because I know I splurge, but it'd be nice to know just how much 😳
