NEW Garnier Skin Active With Aloe Vera

I have to be honest, I wasn't very motivated to change up my skincare when I kindly received these beautiful PR products in the mail from Garnier. I'm a creature of habit and even though my current skincare routine wasn't actually helping much, I still was a bit wary about trying something completely new. Being a creature of habit makes me a reliable, trustworthy blogger but also a boring one, because I constantly promote the same products. Products that I do believe in and wouldn't change up for the world - but my skin freaked out at the beginning of the Summer season, and walking around with painful breakouts all over my t-zone just wasn't the way I wanted to spend my holidays. It wasn't until I randomly tried the Garnier Hydra Bomb Tissue Mask with Green Tea that I finally wanted to focus on this new skin care line: the Garnier Skin Active range with Aloe Vera.

The Hydra Bomb tissue mask worked wonders on my skin, after only 15 minutes of relaxing and enjoying the mask, all the painful bumps on my face had reduced in size and the inflammation had gone down tremendously. My skin looked plump, hydrated and healthy. Even in the following the days, the breakouts kept on reducing, slowly but surely disappearing. I couldn't quite believe my eyes. Tissue masks have never been a go-to in my routine, but this time I just figured why not? Because nothing else seemed to be working. I liked the ingredient list of this tissue mask a lot: Green Tea, Hyaluronic Acid and Hydrating Serum. Green tea works great for fighting bacteria, which is why I chose this one out of the 3 tissue masks Garnier has available right now.

Because the tissue mask finally put my skin to rest I decided I couldn't go back to my regular skin care routine. I switched up everything I was using and narrowed it down to the Garnier Skin Active Refreshing Botanical Cleansing Milk, the Skin Active Refreshing Botanical Toner and the Botanical Day Cream, all with Aloe extract. I had already been using the the Toner quite regularly to refresh my skin before bed time but now I was determined to also ditch my holy grail moisturiser and use the Garnier Botanical Day Cream. I'm gonna be straight forward and say that I generally don't like moisturisers that come in jars. I mainly find it unhygienic, air can get to the product and the ingredients can loose their potential, I'd much prefer for this day cream to come in a tube but I convinced myself to go for it and use it anyway. The cream very much feels like the Hydra Bomb mask, it's a little greasy to start off with and once it's massaged in the skin feels a bit tight for about 15 minutes. The milk cleanser is something I go for when I'm under the shower, to remove excess oil and dirt from my face. I don't actually like to use it to remove makeup as it gets absorbed into the skin really quickly, leaving little time to actually cleanse your face but I do feel that my skin enjoys it. I like this product paired up with my cleansing brush from Kruidvat for a good deep clean!

We are now a week further and my skin is still doing great, I'm planning on picking up another Hydra Bomb Tissue mask over the weekend to boost my skin, and to keep on going with this new skin care regimen. Even though this is not how I imaged my skin care to be like, it is working and there's no denying it. I'll definitely be doing an update in the future once I feel like there's more noticeable changes. This is definitely something new for me, I usually like to stick to products that are appropriate for sensitive skin and that are a little more expensive, but obviously that's not what my skin needs this Summer season. Something that did catch my eye however is how the day cream doesn't contain any paraben, silicones or synthetic colorants. The ingredients of all the products are 96% from natural origin and are nicely explained on the back of each bottle. I did not expect at all to be impressed by these products but I am. What is your skin care routine like? Have you changed up some of your products recently to suit the beautiful Summer weather? Definitely let me know!
