Miss Sporty Really Me Stick Foundation Review

I've noticed it's taking low budget brands quite a while to jump on the stick foundation band wagon. So far, in my drugstore, I've only seen one from NYC. I wonder if MUA, Essence or Catrice Cosmetics will ever launch one because I think it's interesting and very different, formula wise, from what we're used to see in the drugstore. On a trip to the Netherlands I passed by Miss Sporty's makeup display and there I did find one. I love the packaging and the name, it's called the Miss Sporty Really Me Second Skin Effect Foundation.

I really liked the NYC stick foundation and I was curious to see if its formula was even remotely similar to the one from Miss Sporty. Both come from the same beauty company, Coty, and the sticks retail for about the same price. The Miss Sporty Really Me Stick Foundation comes in 4 different shades and each stick contains 7g of product. Compared to a regular foundation that usually comes with 30g or 30ml of product, that is quite low amount. I'm not sure why exactly makeup companies do this but it seems to be so across the board, with many other brands. A Maybelline stick foundation for example only contains 9g.

Unfortunately my experience with this new makeup stick didn't go so well. The feel of this foundation is rather greasy and the product starts separating quickly on the skin after application, making the foundation look patchy within no time. I do have an oily t-zone but this made my whole face look really shiny. It also felt wet and waxy, which I didn't enjoy at all. I test foundations by prepping my skin properly, and by wearing primer underneath as a base, but that didn't make any difference for me with this product. Even the rest of my makeup, such as blush, bronzer and highlighter, wouldn't blend in as nicely. Everything was kind of a mess really.

I'm quite sad I don't like this foundation, I love the packaging, the idea and the brand itself, but on my skin this looked bad. If there's one product that I would recommend from Miss Sporty, it's their Perfect Stay 10H Liquid Concealer. It only retails for €2.99 and I love it. It looks gorgeous on the under eyes, to conceal those dark circles, and on the t-zone for a beautiful, natural highlight. If you're looking for a concealer that gives the illusion of a fresh complexion that would be exactly what you need.
