KIKO Mini Divas Baked Bronzer Review

It's been a while since I've picked up a product from KIKO Milano. I like the brand but often times when I pay their shops a visit I leave empty handed, not so sure why. This past weekend however, it was a little different. The newest limited edition called 'Mini Divas' caught my eye and I was all over the Mini Baked Bronzer in 02 Essential Biscuit. I have an ELF bronzer just like it, and it is one of my absolute staples. I use it as a part of my makeup base all the time so I wanted to see whether this one from KIKO could be similar, if not better!

All the products from the Mini Divas limited edition come in this cute pink and gold cardboard packaging. There's one baked bronzer in this collection, one baked blush, 4 mini divas baked eyeshadows, one lipstick, mascara and kabuki brush. I'm not usually one to purchase from limited editions, just because, as the name suggests, the products are only available for a certain amount of time, which in my opinion makes them less interesting. But this time I was willing to make an exception. As I swatched the bronzer in the KIKO store I immediately knew I wanted to throw it in my basket.

I love baked products on my skin. They always make my base look flawless and there's never a chance that it makes my foundation look cakey. I like to apply bronzer on the perimeter of my face but also on my cheeks and all over my neck. This bronzer looks matte at first, but when swatched or applied on the skin it shows gorgeous, finely mild, golden shimmer. The formula is smooth, smoother than the ELF one I have, and the pigmentation is great. I do find this bronzer to be a little dark though, it looks much lighter in the pan itself than when it's swatched. When I did my makeup with it, it looked really nice but I don't think every pale girl could get away with it. I've been using a foundation that is slightly darker than my pale skin tone (the Maybelline Fit Me Smooth + Smooth 120) and it matched it perfectly. The Mini Divas Bronzer blends well and I had no issues with it looking patchy. My skin looked healthy and glowing. In 5 words: I really like this bronzer!

Do I like it more than my €5 ELF Baked Bronzer in St. Lucia? I think they're both excellent bronzers! I'm really happy I found this at KIKO, the packaging is cute, and the bronzer is really pretty and it works well :) I'm a fan!

  3. The only 2 problems I have with this is that it contains dimethicone and SLS (in a bronzer, really?) and that it is a mini collection with a little product but you have to pay almost as if it was a full size. I use bronzers very much and I like to apply them everywhere, but this weight bothers me, I would go through it too quickly because I already hit pan on a bronzer I started to use this year. If they made this collection as if it was good for bags why wouldn't they add a little mirror too? Kiko is disappointing, I was waiting for this cute mini collection for a month and I thought they would not make us pay a full price for a 3,5 ml bronzer. Like a normal bronzer is at least 8 grams and costs sometimes even less. They at kiko have a bronzer which is 12 grams and has a mirror in it and costs 10.95, I saw it in the store! And many of the Kiko collections are like that.
The colour is beautiful though. Maybe it costs so much because it is a 20th anniversary collection?

    1. I don't know :) I've never really finished a bronzer, ever, so I didn't pay attention to the amount of product that it contains. I agree that 3.5g is very low, especially if you compare it to the baked bronzer from ELF, I talked about in this post, that contains 6g. That being said, my experience with limited editions are that they're usually more expensive than regular products. I'd also be nice to if they used better ingredients, true! Xxx :)
