NYC Makeup Review

New York Color cosmetics recently caught my attention because of their gorgeous, newly released, 'Get it all Lip Colors'. I was so surprised and excited about those that I decided to try more of the brand. I purchased the Smooth Skin BB Radiance Perfecting Powder in 001 Naturally Beige, the Show Time Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in 001 True black, the Smooth Skin Liquid Concealer in 1 Light, the Get it all Stick Foundation in 102 Natural Beige and the Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer 684. Even though NYC makeup has been available in Belgium for a long time, they don't often wow me in the drugstore, will they catch my attention now? Let's have a look!

NYC Get it all Stick Foundation €3.99

I have a first impression review of this foundation on my Youtube channel, check it out here. You'll be surprised!

NYC Smooth Skin BB Radiance Perfecting Powder €3.99

The BB powder's formula is impressive: it's silky smooth, highlighting without showing any sign of shimmer and gives a gorgeous, sun kissed glow to the skin. Even though I picked up the lightest shade it shows pretty dark, very much like a tan you would get from spending a day at the beach. I like it a lot, most low budget powders are terribly chalky and caky.

NYC smooth Skin Liquid Concealer €3.49

Unfortunately the liquid concealer from NYC is too light for me. When I use it on my under eyes everything ends up looking quite grey and dull. For highlighting and concealing blemishes I also find that it wears down very quickly, and often even ends up looking caky when set with powder. I'm not impressed.

NYC Get it all Lip Color €4.49

Check out my extensive review here, you'll regret it if you don't!

NYC show Time Kohl Kajal Eyeliner €2.99

This kohl kajal liner is very black, smooth, pigmented and applies easily but after about ten minutes or so the liner disappears into nothingness. It doesn't last at all and that's a real pity because I actually like it. It's one of the smoothest low budget liners I've tried so far. I'm really bummed about the staying power. I'm not sure how you're supposed to keep a product like this sharpened though.

NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer €3.49

This is not a primer, it's a liquid highlighter and a bad one. It doesn't smooth out your skin nor does it extend the wear of your foundation. It has the exact same consistency of a sunscreen, meaning it's very greasy and it is also filled with very fine shimmer particles that make you look like an oily mess in no time.

I must say that there is a lot of hit and miss when it comes to NYC Cosmetics makeup. Every product comes with its own set of flaws, some have have a divergent and magnificent formula and others are an absolute disaster. I think I'm going to stick with my NYC Get it all Lip Colors for now.
