NEW Garnier Skin Active With Aloe Vera Review

I have to be honest, I wasn't very motivated to change up my skincare when I kindly received these beautiful PR products in the mail from Garnier. I'm a creature of habit and even though my current skincare routine wasn't actually helping much, I still was a bit wary about trying something completely new. Being a creature of habit makes me a reliable, trustworthy blogger but also a boring one, because I constantly promote the same products. Products that I do believe in and wouldn't change up for the world - but my skin freaked out at the beginning of the Summer season, and walking around with painful breakouts all over my t-zone just wasn't the way I wanted to spend my holidays. It wasn't until I randomly tried the Garnier Hydra Bomb Tissue Mask with Green Tea that I finally wanted to focus on this new skin care line: the Garnier Skin Active range with Aloe Vera.

NEW Maybelline Master Bronze Palette Review

Maybelline has slayed us yet again with another palette: the Master Bronze Color & Highlighting Kit! A couple weeks ago I received a generous PR package from the brand with loads of their new products and I couldn't be more excited to tell you all about this beauty. Contouring and highlighting palettes have been around for a while but the cosmetics industry has clearly decided to provide us with new and improved bronzer kits for the Summer season. How did Maybelline do? Let's find out!

Bought It & Loved it - Urban Decay All Nighter

I recently purchased a travel size Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray at my local drugstore and I have to say that this has definitely been my best high end purchase to date! The Urban Decay All Nighter is a cult beauty product and probably one of the most loved makeup setting sprays on the market. It's taken me years to finally try it but I have it now and I'm obsessed.

The Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer Is BACK!

Have you heard?! The Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer is back in Belgium, and let us hope for good this time! Last week I kindly received a fully stocked PR package from the brand and I was super excited to see that this famous cult beauty product will be available in our drugstores once again! The Maybelline Instant Anti Age The Eraser Eye Concealer is an absolute must have in your makeup stash and here's why!

NEW Catrice Fall/Winter Makeup Collection 2017

Catrice Cosmetics has revealed their new Fall/Winter makeup collection of 2017 and I couldn't be more excited. To be honest I was a little taken back when I received the press release in my inbox. The Summer season has only just started and Catrice is already diving into end of the year makeup trends. This time the new collection is all about high shine, shaping and color correcting! There's a brand new, never seen before, professional face palette and they are also bringing out their very own silisponge! Let's have a look at all of the new makeup products.

How Much Money I Spent On Makeup This Month #6

July is here, the Summer has started, and we are back with all my receipts from the month of June! How much money did I spend on makeup in June and has there been a change in my spending pattern?! I started this blog series to talk about how much money I invest in cosmetics every month and we have now officially been keeping track of my shopping habits for half a year! I'm a beauty blogger and 6 months ago I decided that I should be confronted with my passion and addiction to makeup. Let's see how much makeup I bought in the month of June!

NYX Tame & Frame Review - My New Eyebrows

This was supposed to be a temporary solution, a product I bought out of desperation. It was the end of the month and I'd run out of all of my beloved 'eyebrows on fleek' staples: my Wunderbrow Eyebrow Gel and the Catrice Slim Matic Eyebrow Pencil. Going around eyebrowless isn't something I particularly enjoy so I decided to check out all of the drugstores nearby in search of something affordable, until I'd place an online order for some more Wunderbrow action. I ended up purchasing the NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade in Blonde and right now I am absolutely loving my 'desperate purchase'!

Miss Sporty Really Me Stick Foundation Review

I've noticed it's taking low budget brands quite a while to jump on the stick foundation band wagon. So far, in my drugstore, I've only seen one from NYC. I wonder if MUA, Essence or Catrice Cosmetics will ever launch one because I think it's interesting and very different, formula wise, from what we're used to see in the drugstore. On a trip to the Netherlands I passed by Miss Sporty's makeup display and there I did find one. I love the packaging and the name, it's called the Miss Sporty Really Me Second Skin Effect Foundation.

KIKO Mini Divas Baked Bronzer Review

It's been a while since I've picked up a product from KIKO Milano. I like the brand but often times when I pay their shops a visit I leave empty handed, not so sure why. This past weekend however, it was a little different. The newest limited edition called 'Mini Divas' caught my eye and I was all over the Mini Baked Bronzer in 02 Essential Biscuit. I have an ELF bronzer just like it, and it is one of my absolute staples. I use it as a part of my makeup base all the time so I wanted to see whether this one from KIKO could be similar, if not better!

Essence Blushplay Palette Review

The Essence Cosmetics Blushplay palette was already launched a couple of months ago but it's taken me until now to actually purchase it and slowly but surely fall in love with it. It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Essence makeup and even though not every product is a hit, the brand does surprise me over and over again and this product is just that, a nice surprise! Let's have a look at this gorgeous and super affordable sculpting blush palette!

Primark PS Cotton Candy Palette Review

Primark has been releasing the cutest palettes lately! Their most recent addition being the Primark PS Cotton Candy Eyes, Lips & Face Palette and the PS Eye Candy Eyeshadow Palette. I picked up the first one, as I really loved the selection of eye and face products. The eyeshadow palette instead comes with 9 eyeshadows. This collection also comes with 3 Cotton Candy PS Super Matte Lipsticks and 3 Eye Candy Eye Pigments. Everything is super affordable and, I mean, who doesn't need a dose of pink makeup once in a while? I do! Let's have a look!

How To Self Medicate When You Suffer From Depression & Anxiety

Many of you who follow my mental health journey, and my struggle with depression and anxiety, seem to be under the impression that I am medicated. Let me break some news for you here: I am not. I am not on antidepressants and I don't take any medicine for my anxiety. While there is no shame in being medicated for a mental illness this is not a topic that has ever been addressed for me even though I am in treatment, and I have chosen to be okay with it, for now. I do however self medicate, every day, and here's how.

The Most Expensive Lipsticks I Own

I get asked pretty often why I don't blog about high end makeup products and the answer is quite simple really: I can't afford it, and to be honest, I don't really mind. Is there content that I cannot create because of that, and things that I miss out on? Absolutely, but I'm making the best of my situation, and as I said, I don't really mind because I genuinely love low budget cosmetics. I do have a couple of high end makeup products in my stash however and those were definitely splurges, or things I bought when I still had a job, let's face the facts. I mentioned on Snapchat the other day how my boyfriend bought me a €12 lipstick and how I thought that was expensive, I received a couple comments about it so I decided to blog about it and feature the most expensive lipsticks from my makeup collection. Let's have a look!

BUDGET TIP: Garnier Summer Skin Care & Hair Care

Garnier is a brand that has quickly become my go-to in the drugstore for hair care and skin care. It started with their famous Micellar Water and later on with their amazing range of shampoos. I feel like they really hit the nail on the head with their products, they are affordable and you all know I love a good bargain. Today I want to share with you my Garnier favorites and absolute staples for the upcoming Summer season!

2B Illuminating Correcting Cream Review

The 2B Colours makeup brand has three 'cream' face products in their collection: a BB cream, a CC cream and the Illuminating Correcting Cream. Ever since the 2B Illuminating Correcting Cream hit the shelves I've been obsessed with it. It's super affordable and it works wonders! Next to my Miss Sporty 10H Liquid Concealer, it is my go-to for all of my makeup looks and here's why!

How To Make The Perfect Flatlay

If there's one thing that I'm incredibly proud of when it comes to my blog it's how far I've come with my photography, and how I've grown and improved my skills. The best part? It hasn't gone unnoticed. I've received many requests from you to share my ultimate tips on how to create the perfect flatlay. In today's post I'll be discussing all my behind the scenes flatlay secrets, from the lighting, to the props I use, the background and even the best camera settings. Here's how to make the perfect flatlay in 5 simple steps!

How Much Money I Spent On Makeup This Month #5

I started a new blog series where I talk about how much money I spend on makeup every month! Scary, I know, but sometimes we just have to face the facts. I'm a beauty blogger and I realised I never really cared about how much makeup shopping I did, I would just spend and splurge and spend and splurge. Right now, every time I go and haul makeup, my calculator is out. Let's see how much makeup I bought in the month of May!

Moon Clutch GIVEAWAY

Hey there! I'm hosting a giveaway in collaboration with MOON BRUSSELS which is a concept store here in the capital if Europe, Brussels. We want to give you a chance to win one gorgeous 'Moon Clutch' and 2 accessories of your choice. Here's what you need to know:

Essence Primer Review

Essence Cosmetics currently only has one primer in their permanent collection, next to their foundations, powders, concealers, and that is the Get Picture Ready Pore Refining Mattifying Primer. More recently I saw a display of a super cute Essence limited edition called 'Little Beauty Angels' and the 3 primers in the collection immediately caught my attention. I picked up the Soft Brightening Face Perfection Primer. Let's have a look!

TOP 5 Things Every Blogger Should Know

Being a blogger I like to be very much aware of the online environment and its constant undergoing changes. Many experiences as a content creator teach you powerful lessons on how the internet works and I think I sometimes overestimate the level of awareness in the blogger community. I'm not a perfect beauty blogger by any means but I thought I'd share with you some things I have come across that are currently doing their rounds on all social media platforms that you, especially if you're a fellow blogger, should know about.

Essence Makeup Haul

Where I live the Essence Cosmetics makeup display is pretty much always raided - so on a little trip to Gent (a cute city about 30 min from Brussels) I made sure to hit the drugstore for some beautiful and fully loaded makeup racks. I wasn't really sure what I was looking for, but who does when they're shopping for makeup and they don't need any! I scored some awesome items and I can't wait to share them with you today!

5X Makeup Setting Sprays From The Drugstore

Now that the hot weather is approaching I'm sure lots of you will be on the lookout for the best products to make sure your makeup stays put and flawless all day long. Who doesn't want to avoid becoming an oily mess or have their makeup melt off their face?! One of my favorite summer staples when it comes to makeup is a setting spray! I tried 5 from the drugstore and here are my thoughts.

Park Avenue Mineral Mat & Cover Foundation Review

Even though it's sold right next to Maybelline, L'Oreal, Physicians Formula and Rimmel London in every drugstore, Park Avenue is a makeup brand in Belgium that isn't often talked about. I'm going to be honest and say that I find myself walking past their display time and time again. The only reason it caught my attention last week is because I was simply asked on my Snapchat if I could review the Park Avenue Mineral Mat & Cover Foundation. Finding a great budget proof foundation under €10 can be a challenge so I thought why not? Let's have a look!

Essie Gel Couture Bridal Collection

Summer is approaching and I already have 3 wedding invitations in the mail, the bridal season has begun! I'm really looking forward to be picking out my outfits, and of course have my makeup and mani on point. In June 2017 essie will be launching this beautiful Gel Couture Bridal Collection in collaboration with Monique L'Huillier, a fashion designer most prominently known for gorgeous bridal wear. I cannot imagine better nail polish picks, let's have a look!

Mental Health Update: Dealing With Flashbacks

In my struggle with depression and anxiety something I've been dealing with, ever since I'm doing better, is flashbacks. At first I thought I was crazy until I talked about it with a friend of mine, who is a fellow sufferer, and he said he had them too. It was only after that that I mentioned it to my therapist. She explained it was a way for my body to communicate with me, and she proceeded to ask what my flashbacks were about. They only last a couple seconds but they can be pretty disturbing. Most are about things that happened a couple years ago, things that made me hurt a lot, and some are about things I had completely forgotten about, that happened when I was much younger (I'm 26 now).

Primark Bronze Highlight & Glow Kit Review

Getting your hands on a highlighting kit definitely is the beauty blogging trend of the moment, it's taken me a while but I feel like I finally might have found something interesting in the low budget spectrum! High end highlighting gear is fabulous, I'm sure, but I am always on the look out for a great bargain and this PS Bronze Highlight & Glow kit might just be the beginning of some more glorious highlighting kit discoveries!

How Much Money I Spent On Makeup This Month #4

Another month has passed, another post with all the receipts! I started a new blog series where I talk about how much money I spend on makeup, and at the end of the year I'm pretty sure I'm going to give myself a heart attack when I decide to put all my expenses together. I never really kept track of what I spent on cosmetics so I have no idea what to expect! Let's see how much makeup I bought in the month of April.

NEW Essence Touch Blush Review

Would you believe me if I told you that I wasn't using blush up until 2 years ago? I thought it was completely unnecessary and would only accentuate the redness on my cheeks. Today instead, it has become one of my absolute makeup staples. Blush lifts up my face, it makes me look less flat, more sleek and put together. One of my favorite brands for blush is, of course, Essence Cosmetics. I was already a fan when they still had the Silky Touch Blushes around but those have since undergone a revamp and are now known as the Essence Satin Touch Blushes and the Essence Matt Touch Blushes.

Essence Volume Stylist Mascara Review

If you love makeup and you haven't tried an Essence mascara yet, where the hell have you been? Mascaras from Essence Cosmetics easily beat regular drugstore mascaras for me. They have amazing formulas and make for long and curly black lashes. Every year Essence revamps their makeup line and brings out new and improved products, the Essence Volume Stylist Mascaras were at the top of my list for review, I couldn't wait to try them. Let's have a look!

Cause Even A Girl Boss Needs A Break

I usually have my shit together when it comes to my online activities (e.g. blogging 3x a week and uploading on Youtube every Saturday) but for the last month or so not so much. I thought I'd change it up a bit over here and actually talk about why I've been recycling and upcycling some of my older blogposts, among other things, just to be able to keep everything running smoothly.

5X Drugstore Highlighters To Get Your Glow On

As of late I've been going a little over the top with my highlighter, so much so that when I do my makeup I'm tempted to cover my entire face with it - avoiding that I look like a disco ball of course. I have quite a cute collection of drugstore glow in my makeup stash that is very capable of doing so! Each and every single highlighter is a personal favorite, most are oldies but goodies, I also included a brand new liquid highlighter from Maybelline and these won't cover your face in cheap shimmer, let's have a look!

Updated Eyebrow Routine For Blondes

Saying that I'm obsessed with eyebrows is probably an understatement. In my life, a daily dose of eyebrow porno is a must, and leaving the house without Instagram brows on a rarity. I love a good snatched brow, but on myself a natural pair of eyebrow twins is all I want. Maybe the word 'natural' is a little exaggerated, which is why I still call them instabrows, 'cause they have to be instaperfect, ya know? I was introduced to Wunderbrow a few months ago and I can honestly say that my eyebrows have never looked better. I've perfected my routine by adding some of my favorite and absolute budget proof brow essentials from Catrice and Essence, and together they form my new and improved eyebrow routine for my blonde hair.

Why I Don't Buy From 'Social Media Makeup Brands'

Being someone who started following beauty bloggers over a decade ago I've seen a lot of changes in the online beauty world, makeup trends come and go, but one that has definitely caught my eye is the rise of 'social media makeup brands'. What I mean by social media makeup is: cosmetics that are pretty much unknown for anyone who doesn't spend their time on youtube or scrolling through blogs and thousands of flatlays on Instagram (like I do). Way back when I was 16, the only makeup brands that dominated beauty and makeup channels on youtube were Coastal Scents and Sigma (any of you remember?). Today, being able to get a spot in a beauty bloggers' blog post, youtube video, Snapchat- or Instastory means big bucks, zero honesty and/or transparency and petty drama. Here's why I don't buy from social media makeup brands.

Cult Beauty Products Buy It Or Leave It?

Makeup trends change, makeup collections expand, makeup formulas evolve but there's one thing in the cosmetics industry that doesn't change: cult beauty products! They got top rates back then and they still have top rates now. Over time, I've collected quite a few popular items and I've been very eager to share with you whether I think hyped makeup products are worth it or not. Let's have a look!

LIDL Makeup⎜Cien BB Cream All-In-One Review

LIDL has an affordable makeup collection by the name of Cien Beauty, carrying products such as foundation, lipstick, lipgloss and more recently the Cien all-in-one BB cream SPF 15. Blemish balm creams are a great Summer staple, especially for a light and luminous makeup look. Here are my thoughts on the most affordable BB cream on the beauty market yet!

The Affordable Nude Lip Edit

When it comes to my every day makeup routine, nude lipsticks are an absolute staple. I'm addicted to nude lipsticks, in all kinds of different formulas. Because I also love a great bargain, today I want to show you my collection of affordable nude lip products that I cannot live without. These are lippies that never leave my makeup bag, ever. They are the most beautiful, no fuss, great quality lip products for the best prices. Let's have a look at my top 5 affordable nude lip edit!

Your Nail Polish Picks This Spring Season

Spring has joined us and I couldn't be more excited. I wake up in the morning and the warm sunshine gently touches my face, slowly filling my heart with joy. It's so much more pleasant to get up early when there's no dark clouds waiting to stay with you for the rest of the day. The cold is steadily turning into a swift warm breeze and I can't wait for the sun rays to be beaming with delight. To bring these beautiful Spring vibes to life in my home I've been enjoying buying fresh flowers and changing up my wardrobe with pieces featuring fresher and brighter colors. Beauty wise I've got my makeup pretty much covered and all that's left is a gorgeous Spring manicure! Let's have a look at what Essie has in store for us with their newest Spring collection!

Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume Mascara

I love the Essence Lash Princess Mascaras, they're affordable and work wonders on your lashes! Their popularity certainly hasn't gone unnoticed for the Essence Cosmetics team and in February 2017 they launched yet another Lash Princess mascara: a purple one this time, for some extra sculpted volume, as a part of the new Essence makeup collection for the Spring/Summer season. If you're not familiar with this formula, check my review of the other Lash Princess Mascaras here.

How Much Money I Spent On Makeup This Month #3

The start of the Spring season has definitely changed the focus of my expenses this month, which is kind of understandable if you look at what I spent on makeup in February! Just in case you don't know, I started collecting receipts and writing down all of my expenses regarding my makeup shopping sprees. As a beauty blogger I feel like sometimes I try to justify many of my makeup purchases by simply stating 'I need it to blog' or 'I need it for my youtube channel'. To actually hold myself accountable I began this series on my blog to keep track of the amount of money that leaves my wallet for makeup products every month. Let's have a look at how much money I spent on makeup in March!

Budget Contouring: To Palette Or Not To Palette?

Contouring palettes are on the rise and pretty much any makeup company is rushing to get top rates on their shaping, sculpting and highlighting makeup gear. Low budget makeup brands are keeping up just fine, but are their products just as good as their individual pans? Whenever I purchase an affordable shaping kit I never end up using every single product in the palette, so my question is: contouring on a budget - to palette or not to palette? Let's have a look!

What Most Of You Don't Know About Self Care

Something that has been very close to my heart, ever since I started going to therapy, is self care. Growing up I didn't know what self care was, I wasn't allowed to practise self care and when I did I was called an egoist and expected to feel guilty about it. Everything in my life always needed to have a greater purpose, needed to be about other people, about helping people and being compassionate. As a result I've never really been compassionate or understanding towards myself, I never felt good enough and I thought I didn't deserve anything. In fact, when I would be kind to myself the guilt would be so extreme that I would either become sad or angry, or both. Through therapy I'm finally learning that self care is okay and that it is in fact a necessity. Today, I want to touch on the way self care is often turned into this 'let's watch movies all day', 'let's buy a new perfume', 'let's order loads of take out' type of thing. There is a very important aspect of self care that is not or rarely talked about, especially when it comes to those who struggle with mental health.

Essence Camouflage Foundation & Concealer

Finding affordable base products, that actually work, isn't always that easy. Yes, the drugstore is filled with foundations and concealers, but drugstore prices don't necessarily mean that everything is inexpensive. Essence Cosmetics on the other hand does score on my best of budget friendly makeup list and is one of my go-to brands for many things: blush, mascara, lipsticks and lipglosses. Today I'll be reviewing their newest concealer and foundation from the Essence Camouflage makeup line.

Please Stop Stealing My Images

Yesterday I found out yet again that my content was being used without my knowledge/permission by a company with nearly 1 million followers on twitter, half a million on Facebook and not to mention their other social media pages. They took a collage I had assembled with images I had received from a press release (??) and they just bluntly copied the title and the intro of my blogpost and posted it on their site to promote their beauty section. The worst part: my site wasn't linked, meaning I missed out on possibly thousands of potential new readers. I can't help but feeling absolutely disgusted.

Essence 2017 Shine Shine Shine Lipgloss Review

Essence Cosmetics has revamped their entire lipgloss collection and today I have a review and comparison of their newly launched formulas: the Essence Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipglosses, part of last year's make over, and the Essence Shine Shine Shine Wet Look Lipglosses that only just hit the racks in the drugstore. Let's have a look!

Khloé Kardashian iPhone App Review

Let me start off by saying that I'm not a Kardashian stalker or a crazy super fan, my intent here is to review the KHLOÉ App from a and my beauty and lifestyle blogger point of view. I like the Kardashians, I like their show and yes I do keep up with them but just so we are clear - I'm reviewing this just like I would review every other product/item/service on my site. I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts and let you know whether it's worth the subscription or not. My boyfriend surprised me with an iTunes card a couple weeks ago and I immediately knew I wanted to try one of the Kardashian/Jenner apps. Khloé is the one Kardashian sister I've been keeping up with the most lately, ever since her 'Revenge Body' series kicked off, so I decided to go with her app first! Let's have a look.

Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation Review

I know I've been reviewing a hell of a lot of foundations lately but I feel like the drugstores have so many amazing products in their makeup aisles at the moment that just I can't handle myself! The Maybelline Dream Cushion was next on my list. I've been featuring quite a few of the new 2017 Maybelline makeup launches, such as the 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette and their Color Drama Lip Contour Palettes, and I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to try their take on the cushion makeup trend. Here are my thoughts!

Why I'm Not a 100K Blogzilla

I've been following online creators since I was 16 years old and today, a decade later (I'm 26), I kinda regret only starting to create my own content about 3 years ago. All the girls I envied when I was a teenager have become successful women now, online icons. While I'm sure they had many challenges to face and still do, to stand where they are presently, I've been feeling the disadvantages of starting 'late' and being a 'microblogger'. Successful content creators are only becoming more successful and the little ones, like me, are left swimming in the dirt, desperately trying to beat algorithms. Growing your blog 'organically' has very much become a thing from the past and being a blogzilla sells souls.

The 1 Year Therapy Update

When I look back at some of the things that I wrote on my site about my struggle with depression and anxiety, therapy and mental health, I'm slightly uncomfortable. In many posts I state that I'm 'sober' when it is very apparent I'm in a lot of distress and that I'm hurting. Therapy is a process and a long one. It's also not as straightforward as it is sometimes made out to be in movies, school or society as a whole. It is so much more than just talking about your feelings and your past. It's about coming to the realisation that things were not okay, why they weren't okay and how exactly everything played out the way it did. In my case I'm confronted a lot with the choices my parents made, how I was raised, and it's extremely confusing and painful. So painful in fact that it is making the relationship with my family very difficult. I can't bring myself to pick up their phone calls or even talk to them over text. When my phone rings my eyes widen in fear and I can feel the panic rushing through my veins.

Maybelline Color Drama Lip Contour Palettes

It started with simply contouring our cheeks and now we are contouring everything from our nose to our eyes to our lips and even our ears! Maybelline New York has joined the lip contouring clan and released 2 brand new Color Drama Lip Contour Palettes: palette nr 01 Crimson Vixen with dark and vampy reds and palette 02 Blushed Bombshell with a variety of nudes and neutrals. Let's have a look!

The Best Makeup Brushes For Small & Hooded Eyes

It was only when I started using the Zoeva Rose Gold Eye Set that I understood the importance of having quality makeup tools. My eyeshadow skills made such great progress using this set I couldn't quite believe it. I never expected to love the Zoeva brushes so much that I actually purchased back ups. The Zoeva Rose Golden Complete Eye Set is an eyeshadow set of 12 brushes, and in this post I want to share with you my top 4 most used brush picks that are excellent for those of you who have small or hooded eyes. I always thought that doing eyeshadow was something impossible to experiment with when having hooded eyes, let me tell you, as long as you're using the right gear it isn't!
