Essence Metal Chrome Blush Review

Essence blushes are my religion, they are the absolute best and there's no denying it. The newest addition from the brand are the Metal Chrome Blushes. They have 3 different shades available and I cannot wait to get my hands on the other two. Today I will be reviewing 30 the beauty and the bronze, which is the darkest shade Essence Cosmetics released. Let's have a look!

Essence Ultra Last Instant Colour Lipstick

Essence Cosmetics revamped their entire lipstick range and added 20 new shades to their permanent makeup collection of 2017: the Essence Ultra Last Instant Colour Lipsticks. Essence lipsticks have always been a passion of mine. Ever since they released their Longlasting Lipsticks back in 2014, I've pretty much purchased every single one the brand has ever created. The formula of their lipsticks is truly outstanding and there was no way I was going to miss out on this new collection.

My Anxie-Tea Stash⎪Tea To Beat Anxiety

I'm not a doctor, nor am I a psychiatrist, herbalist or therapist, but I do know first hand what depression and anxiety can do to your mind and to your body, as I've been a long time sufferer and survivor. Tea is a part of my self care routine, my natural medicine to stress, anxiety, mood swings and years ago my go-to home remedy to actually quit smoking and choose for a healthier lifestyle. I recently looked at my anxie-tea stash and realised they actually serve a big purpose in my life, so I wanted to share with you my favorite herbal teas to beat anxiety.

Essence Make Me Glow Liquid Highlighter

I think we can all agree that wearing an enormous amount of highlighter is the trend of 2017. About every cosmetics brand, on the planet, made it their goal to have the most outstanding highlighter product in their makeup line - in the hopes that it will take over every beauty lovers' social media feed. I love a good glow, something subtle that brings shape, dimension and lights up the highest points of my face. I'm not into a super shimmery look, highlighting for me is about taking your makeup to the next level without looking like a disco ball. Essence Cosmetics recently released the Make Me Glow Liquid Highlighter as part of their 2017 Fall/ Winter collection. Let's have a look!

When Social Anxiety Gets The Best Of You

This Summer I declined 3 wedding invitations, 2 of which I was actually excited to go to. Social anxiety got the best of me once again and even though I'm relieved I didn't go, because I don't think I would have been able to practise the amount of appropriate self care, I'm also a bit sad. When I first got the invitations I was very nervous but as time passed that slowly turned into a tiny little bit of excitement. About 2 months before the 'save the dates' I received an Instagram DM from one of the other guests, and my brain decided to go completely haywire - I wasn't going to go anymore.

ZOEVA The Basic Moment Palette Review

I first started using ZOEVA (makeup brushes) years ago when they began working with influencers on Youtube. For once, the many (mostly) American beauty bloggers that I followed and loved so much were raving about a company that was actually based in Europe, Germany to be exact. I then placed an order for a beautiful rose gold eye makeup brush set and I have bought multiple back ups ever since. ZOEVA didn't have as much makeup in their online store yet at that time, today they have more palettes than I can count. As soon as the 'The Basic Moment' blush palette was released I was intrigued. I love the design of the palette and the formula sounded really promising. After looking at some reviews I finally decided to place an order for my birthday. Let's have a look!

NEW Essence Fresh & Fit Foundation Review

Every time Essence releases a new foundation I have to try it. There is no other budget brand in Belgium that is, in my opinion, as affordable and reliable as Essence Cosmetics. I recently purchased a bunch of their new Fall/Winter makeup releases and part of my haul was this Essence Fresh & Fit Awake Makeup Foundation. Fresh & Fit is a new line Essence Cosmetics has created and, from looking just at the packaging of the products so far, everything is looking really promising!

Trying To Get Back Up When Depression Beats You Down

As most of you have noticed I haven't been very active on my social media these past weeks. Where I'm usually able to talk through and about my emotions, by sharing it with all of you, for some reason I can't even bring myself to do that, I'm completely stuck. I feel shame and sadness mostly. Not so long ago I was ready to tell my therapist I only wanted to see her once every other week, and at this very moment I feel like I've been defeated by mental illness once again. I've been trying to scrap my feelings together that, in my head, are dispersed all over the floor and somehow I don't seem to be able to pick them all up. I feel like a mess.

How Much I Spent On Makeup This Month #8

The Summer is over and, even though there's no back to school for me, I can't help but feel a little lost this time of year. I could have done with more Summer holidays for sure - so instead I very much drowned myself in makeup the past weeks. My August makeup shopping, honestly, was a little scandalous for my doing. If you're not familiar with this series, I basically keep track of all the makeup I buy every single month and compare it to my expenses from the previous months. I started it back in January and now we are already heading into September! August was the reveal of new makeup trends, fall collections and winter makeup must haves. Let's see how much money I spent on makeup in the month of August!

KIKO Duo Bronzer Review

KIKO Cosmetics has seduced me yet again with another limited edition bronzer! This time with the KIKO Fall 2.0 Duo Bronzer, which is part of a collection featuring beautiful midnight blue and gold packaging. The Fall 2.0 edition features products such as a Duo Blush, a baked bronzer and highlighter, magnetic eyeshadows and Lip Stylo lipsticks. I was immediately taken by the collection's luxurious look, it reminds me a little of Estée Lauder. Even though the bronzer was a little more expensive than I wanted it to be, I just needed to know if the formula was just as great on the face as it swatched on my finger, smooth and oh, so buttery! I bought two compacts, one for a girlfriend's birthday and one for me. Let's have a look!

Twice a year Catrice Cosmetics turns their whole entire makeup display upside down and decides which products will be discontinued and which products will be added to the brand and have their very own moment of glory. The metallic finish is definitely what the 2017 Fall/Winter makeup trends are all about this time around. Many of the makeup products in this new collection are metallized, glowing, shaping and color correcting. Are you excited?! Let's have a look!

H&M Precision Makeup Sponge Review

I've been receiving quite a few requests lately to review the H&M Beauty Makeup Sponges. I like the H&M Beauty brand and I love applying foundation and concealer with a good makeup sponge! H&M has several products that are staples in my everyday makeup routine and they are really affordable, a little bit more affordable than regular drugstore products in fact. Their precision sponges for example only retail for €3.99 each! No wonder people want to find out if they're any good. I think H&M is doing great beauty wise so I decided to go for it and try 2 of their precision sponges.

Therapy Update: Regretting Your Past

It's been a long time since I've made a therapy update, mostly because I've been enjoying living my life as a (rather) happy person, but also because I don't really know what to say anymore. I've chatted about this on my Snapchat, that I feel like I'm done talking about my childhood and my upsetting experiences with my therapist. It's not that I think I'm healed from trauma or that I have processed absolutely everything, I'm literally just at a loss for words. Going to therapy for more than a year has truly been the most eye opening experience I've ever had, and I guess I'm just trying to deal with the magnitude of it all. When I think of all the things I have learned, about myself, about family, friends and mental illness in itself, I am relieved but I'm also horrified. I'm slowly but surely quite embarrassed for some of my behaviour and thoughts I've had in the past.

Freedom & I Heart Makeup NOW AVAILABLE at Kruidvat

If you've been following me for some time you know that I announced a while ago that Kruidvat was discontinuing their 2B Colours makeup display. As much as I love the 2B Colors CC - and Illuminating Correcting Cream, I have to admit that 2B is a brand that is rather boring compared to their competitors. They never really follow makeup trends or release exciting limited editions, and their newest products aren't always that exciting. I asked Kruidvat why & when this change was going to happen and while they were fast in confirming the brand was indeed disappearing from their stores, my 'why?' question was left unanswered. To be honest I already kind of knew they were going to replace it with another cosmetics' brand, but I didn't know which one. Makeup Revolution and MUA were my first guesses, I was wrong! Over the weekend I happened to jump in one of the Kruidvat drugstores and there it was: brand new FREEDOM and I HEART MAKEUP displays!

NEW Garnier Skin Active With Aloe Vera

I have to be honest, I wasn't very motivated to change up my skincare when I kindly received these beautiful PR products in the mail from Garnier. I'm a creature of habit and even though my current skincare routine wasn't actually helping much, I still was a bit wary about trying something completely new. Being a creature of habit makes me a reliable, trustworthy blogger but also a boring one, because I constantly promote the same products. Products that I do believe in and wouldn't change up for the world - but my skin freaked out at the beginning of the Summer season, and walking around with painful breakouts all over my t-zone just wasn't the way I wanted to spend my holidays. It wasn't until I randomly tried the Garnier Hydra Bomb Tissue Mask with Green Tea that I finally wanted to focus on this new skin care line: the Garnier Skin Active range with Aloe Vera.

NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade Review

This was supposed to be a temporary solution, a product I bought out of desperation. It was the end of the month and I'd run out of all of my beloved 'eyebrows on fleek' staples: my Wunderbrow Eyebrow Gel and the Catrice Slim Matic Eyebrow Pencil. Going around eyebrowless isn't something I particularly enjoy so I decided to check out all of the drugstores nearby in search of something affordable, until I'd place an online order for some more Wunderbrow action. I ended up purchasing the NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade in Blonde and right now I am absolutely loving my 'desperate purchase'!

I've noticed it's taking low budget brands quite a while to jump on the stick foundation band wagon. So far, in my drugstore, I've only seen one from NYC. I wonder if MUA, Essence or Catrice Cosmetics will ever launch one because I think it's interesting and very different, formula wise, from what we're used to see in the drugstore. On a trip to the Netherlands I passed by Miss Sporty's makeup display and there I did find one. I love the packaging and the name, it's called the Miss Sporty Really Me Second Skin Effect Foundation.

The Most Expensive Lipsticks I Own

I get asked pretty often why I don't blog about high end makeup products and the answer is quite simple really: I can't afford it, and to be honest, I don't really mind. Is there content that I cannot create because of that, and things that I miss out on? Absolutely, but I'm making the best of my situation, and as I said, I don't really mind because I genuinely love low budget cosmetics. I do have a couple of high end makeup products in my stash however and those were definitely splurges, or things I bought when I still had a job, let's face the facts. I mentioned on Snapchat the other day how my boyfriend bought me a €12 lipstick and how I thought that was expensive, I received a couple comments about it so I decided to blog about it and feature the most expensive lipsticks from my makeup collection. Mental Health: Dealing With Flashbacks

In my struggle with depression and anxiety something I've been dealing with, ever since I'm doing better, is flashbacks. At first I thought I was crazy until I talked about it with a friend of mine, who is a fellow sufferer, and he said he had them too. It was only after that that I mentioned it to my therapist. She explained it was a way for my body to communicate with me, and she proceeded to ask what my flashbacks were about. They only last a couple seconds but they can be pretty disturbing. Most are about things that happened a couple years ago, things that made me hurt a lot, and some are about things I had completely forgotten about, that happened when I was much younger (I'm 26 now).

NEW Essence Touch Blush Review

Would you believe me if I told you that I wasn't using blush up until 2 years ago? I thought it was completely unnecessary and would only accentuate the redness on my cheeks. Today instead, it has become one of my absolute makeup staples. Blush lifts up my face, it makes me look less flat, more sleek and put together. One of my favorite brands for blush is, of course, Essence Cosmetics. Updated Eyebrow Routine For Blondes

Saying that I'm obsessed with eyebrows is probably an understatement. In my life, a daily dose of eyebrow porno is a must, and leaving the house without Instagram brows on a rarity. I love a good snatched brow, but on myself a natural pair of eyebrow twins is all I want. Maybe the word 'natural' is a little exaggerated, which is why I still call them instabrows, 'cause they have to be instaperfect, ya know? I was introduced to Wunderbrow a few months ago and I can honestly say that my eyebrows have never looked better. I've perfected my routine by adding some of my favorite and absolute budget proof brow essentials from Catrice and Essence, and together they form my new and improved eyebrow routine for my blonde hair.
