Essence Cosmetics Longlasting Lipsticks nr25, nr26, nr27, nr28 - Review & Swatches

I love the Essence Cosmetics Longlasting Lipstick range. I own every shade ever released (limited editions aside) and have reviewed more than half of them on my site. They are pigmented, have an incredibly comfortable formula, have 28 different shades to choose from and are super affordable. Not so long ago Essence Cosmetics released 4 more shades as part of their Fall/Winter Makeup Collection: the Essence Longlasting Lipsticks nr 28 time for a toffee break?, nr 27 mystic violet, nr 26 all-time favorite and the Essence Longlasting Lipstick nr 25 poppy pink. Let's have look!

Swatches from top to bottom:

Essence Longlasting Lipstick nr 28 time for a toffee break?
Essence Longlasting Lipstick nr 27 mystic violet
Essence Longlasting Lipstick nr 26 all-time favorite
Essence Longlasting Lipstick nr 25 poppy pink

I have 2 complaints about the new Essence Longlasting Lipsticks: I've been so used to the names being printed on the bottom together with their dedicated number that its absence bothers me a lot. The names are printed on the side of the lipstick tube, yes, but after taking a look at my older Essence Cosmetics lipsticks I've seen it actually rubs off completely in that area. I think the names gave a more classy and interesting vibe to these lipsticks. The second complaint I have is the actual formula, it seems a little different to me. The lipsticks are more greasy, especially nr 28 time for a toffee break? and nr 27 mystic violet, they don't show as opaque in the swatches and their scent is more chemical than usual. That last one is something I saw mentioned in many reviews before but only noticed myself until this new release.

I still very much like the Essence longlasting lipsticks, because of their low budget yet great quality formula, but I'm not sure these 4 are true must haves. I have a comparison about these lipsticks (coming up in the next weeks) and they are very similar to some of their old launches, and I actually think those old ones are better.
