Essence Contouring Eyeshadow Set Review

Essence Cosmetics recently put out four different, beautiful Contouring Eyeshadow Sets. They are cute and simple eyeshadow duos made to bring dept and definition to the eyes. They have both matte and shimmery eyeshadows and cool toned and warm toned options. I'm reviewing the shade 02 brownies with frosting, let's have a look!

I really like this Essence Contouring Eyeshadow Duo. The shadows are powdery, yes, but they have great pigmentation and are easy to blend. There is no issue with fallout and combined with an affordable eye primer the color pay off of the shadows is beautiful. The shimmery shade is a gorgeous champagne color with a buttery, soft formula, and the chocolate brown shadow is a soft powder.

I usually combine these eyeshadows with other products to create eyeshadow looks, but this duo is perfectly wearable on it's own. I love to apply the shimmery shade all over the eyelid, in the inner corner of the eye and on the brow bone. The darker shade is perfect in the crease used as a transition color when applied with a tapered fluffy brush, and of course as a crease color when applied with a smaller, more dense brush. I have a tutorial on how I use this particular Essence Contouring Eyeshadow Set here. I chose this duo because I really enjoy using warm toned makeup products, if you like more cool toned eyeshadows I suggest trying the Essence Contouring Set in 01 mauve meets marshmallows and 04 coffee 'n' cream

  1. I found some old (but still good) Catrice e/s in a sale bin & bought 1 or 2 :-) My First Copperware Party & Welcome to Graysland (matte). Am thinking of buying the Absolute Rose palette at Ulta which has a 20% off deal now. I'm pale & these shadows are my jam, plus as you can see I'm cheap!! Or maybe more accurately broke right now & these let me play around without pocketbook damage. If I see Mauve to Marshmallow I will grab it as I like coolish pale shadows. Thanks for this, Happy November!!!
