Catrice Cosmetics Prime & Fine Multitalent Fixing Spray Review

Makeup setting sprays have definitely been on the rise this past year, they've become the ultimate essential in everyone's makeup routine and Catrice Cosmetics (finally) decided not to miss out on the hype! When I think of makeup setting sprays my thoughts immediately go to the MAC Prep & Prime, the Urban Decay All Nighter and many other high end, cult beauty products. Low budget brands have yet to strike with an amazing setting spray. Did Catrice Cosmetics hit the nail on the head with their Prime & Fine Multitalent Fixing Spray? Let's have a look.

Makeup setting sprays are made to enhance and prolong the wear of your makeup, they're made to hydrate the skin and to make sure your makeup stays set no matter what the circumstances. The Catrice Prime & Fine Longlasting Fixing Spray claims to prepare the skin, improve makeup wear and refresh your complexion. It's said to be lightweight, quick-drying and can be used as a primer and or to set your makeup. I like to use setting sprays to either prevent my foundation from looking cakey or to enhance the longevity of my makeup look on humid and/or hot days.

Ingredients:
AQUA (WATER), BUTYLENE GLYCOL, BETAINE, HYDROXYPROPYL CYCLODEXTRIN, PPG-26-BUTETH-26, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, BENZYL ALCOHOL, SODIUM BENZOATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE).

I have to say I'm pretty impressed with what Catrice has brought on the market. The setting spray has a pleasant, floral scent, very similar to the fragrance of Laroche-Posay products if you're familiar with the brand, and it feels great and refreshing on the skin. It most definitely improves the wear of my makeup and even makes for a flawless application of foundation. So far my favorite way to use this spray is by dampening my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge with it and blend out my foundation and concealer, and/or to spray it on at the very end of my makeup routine. It keeps my face matte and completely oil and sweat free for most of the day.

The only complaint I have about this product so far is the size and the way it sprays product. It's true that a 50ml bottle makes for a travel friendly product but it's so little, especially considering the spray nozzle doesn't exactly give out a fine mist. After having this product for only a week I had already used up almost half, after 3 weeks this bottle is pretty much near empty. I like this Catrice Multitalent Fixing Spray, a lot, but I didn't exactly drench my face in it every time I did my makeup. I think this is going to be a drawback for a lot of people so I hope Catrice considers putting out a bigger bottle in the near future, I'd be beyond excited because it truly is a drugstore makeup gem!

  2. This sounds great! Too bad it's that small... I need to check out Catrice's products, I don't have them on my nearest drugstore so I always put it on my list and that's it! I've never used a fixing spray and it sounds really practical.

    1. Catrice is a great low budget brand too bad they don't sell in the UK yet 😊 I think you'd like it. It's from the same company that makes Essence Cosmetics. Xxx
