Brussels Terrorist Attacks Thoughts & Feelings #JeSuisBruxelles

I was on my way to run some errands when I realized something in the center of Brussels was really off, there was an unusual amount of police cars and ambulances driving at very high speed, through all the traffic. Being the observant person I am, I decided to check if my intuition was right. It only took me a phone call to know what was going on: two terrorist attacks, one around 8 AM in Brussels Airport and the next at 9.11 AM in the European quarter. I had left the house at 9.15. Those responsible for the attacks in Paris were taken into custody just days ago and now innocent people were targeted again?

I remember that Paris night like it was yesterday, whilst people were being savagely slaughtered in bars, restaurants and concert halls, I was out in my heels drinking cocktails, telling my friend jokingly if something were to happen I'd be completely useless in my stilettos. Today I was walking near the Royal Park and a bomb had gone off just 500m away. Everything that's happened is just plain out cruel, no living being should have to go through such thing. No one with a healthy mind would think this makes sense or that these actions can be justified for a cause. Be strong Brussels folks, Manneken Pis will keep on peeing from his pedestal on their empty heads and dark and vicious hearts.

Q: If you had super powers, how would you deal with these terrorists? Be sure to let me know in the comments!

    1. I understand that the events that happened over the last months open up a box of feelings and ignite lots of debate. However, this does not mean that since my country is in mourning hate speech towards a group of people is acceptable on my website. There certainly is a problem with the integration of Muslims, but slurring will not bring any solution or added value to the issue at hand. Addressing the problem in this way is just a mirror for what radical Muslims think about the West.

    2. I see that there are a number of issues to be examined thoroughly, and hopefully will do so over the Easter break hahaha, but for the time being I found an interesting article on the educational shortcomings of Muslim youngsters in the UK, I was actually suprised to read it on the Daily Mail, as I personally see that paper as 97% rubbish. But hey, even in mud you can find a golden nugget. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3507086/Why-no-one-admit-way-western-Muslims-raise-children-fomenting-terror.html

  2. As a Mother of a Wounded Warrior, I am most likely not the person to ask this question. My Doctor is a Muslim, I trust him with my life. He is a good person that doesn't behave like one of the many men we've been watching traveling across that side of the world on our television. They seem so different as night and day. It appears as if that side of the world is being invaded, they are showing videos of women being raped by hundreds of men moving in packs like rapid animals. Bombings, murders, rapes and I used to feel compassion for the women and children. But they have chosen to live this way. They know their sons, husbands, brothers and fathers are doing these heinous crimes and yet they do nothing to stop them. I watched a video of hundreds of men dragging a woman down a set of stairs, I can still hear her screams. I have no idea if she lived through it. I am of the believe that if you rape, you are castrated. If they can't live in peace with each other, how did world leaders think they would live in peace in other countries? Please just take extra precautions for now, keep a pair of shoes you can run in within your bag at all times. Check beneath your car as you approach it, be aware of your surroundings at all times.

    1. Hello dear, the way you and your son had to pay to commit for a measure of peace in the world is terrible. I feel like there is such a shortage of free thinking for these people that is like they chose not to use their brains anymore. I do not know how the tide can be turned, for sure proper education and women empowerment could do a lot, but the problem is how to get through and bring forward ideas and values that we fought so hard to develop :)
