To follow up on the post where I explained that I'm a person who washes her hair every day, sharing my favorite shampoos next only seemed an obvious step. The funny thing is: even though I have long hair that gets greasy easily I don't actually use shampoos catered for people who have oily hair and I don't have an irritated scalp from doing what I do! Here's why.
It's widely known by now that from using shampoo you strip away the natural oils present on your scalp, so as soon as you cleanse your hair the oils will slowly but surely resurface. After years of doing my own research I came to the conclusion that using shampoos especially made for people with greasy hair was not going to solve my problem. Because they are designed to strip your scalp from that extra oil they will only cause the oils to come back faster, as your scalp will want to go back to its natural state.
I decided to go for very mild shampoos to minimize any risk of not only damage but also allergies or irritations. Baby shampoo's are therefore my first choice, the ones from Garnier's Ultra Doux Kids hairline are my favorite (I have talked about this product on my blog before). They don't have that default 'baby smell' and most of their shampoos are allergenic and free of paraben and colorants. The one I am currently using is a 2 in 1 shampoo with a pleasant apricot scent that makes it easy to detangle your hair.
Next up is another shampoo I only recently started using but I am totally obsessed with! The Garnier Ultra Doux family Shampoo for Normal hair. It's free from not only paraben and colorants but also silicones. A shampoo without silicones that leaves my hair soft, super managable and easy to style? Oh yes! It also gives an incredible amount of volume to my roots, which is something I don't even achieve with Volumizing shampoos.
The last shampoo I use is the Head & Shoulders Anti-dandruff Instant fresh Shampoo. Anti-dandruff shampoos are soothing and calming for the scalp and really beneficial not only if you suffer from dandruff but also (you guessed it) if you happen to wash your hair on a daily basis. It will prevent irritation and also act as a great clarifying shampoo to get rid of all the build up in your hair.
To make sure all the shampoos I use always perform at their maximum potential I never use the the same shampoo two days in a row which surprisingly also happens to be a trick that may extend the period between washes for a day or so, which is like the maximum amount of time my hair can do.
YES, I wash my hair everyday!
