The new Essence Longlasting Lipsticks are my absolute favorite lipsticks ever. They are pigmented, have an incredible comfortable formula, there are an amazing amount of shades to choose from and they are super affordable. I own every single one Essence has released so there's no way I was going to miss out on the #ilovenude trend edition. Lets get swatching.
'01 Wearing Only a Smile' is definitely the least wearable lipstick shade of them all. My lips are too pigmented for a color like this. You can clearly see the product settling into the fine lines of my hand too. I never really liked the look of lipstick but purchased anyway in order to keep an open mind. Essence gave this one some kind of a lipbalmy texture probably to make up for the weird color it has but it's not working for me.
'02 Porcelain Doll' is a shade where I need to prep my lips with a lip liner first. Although not very visible in the picture, it does settle into fine lines but is pigmented enough to get that problem corrected with a base color. I love the coral undertone that this lipstick has. It's unlike any nude shade I've ever seen. Very pretty!
Formula wise 'Cool Nude' is just as awesome as all the others: smooth, pigmented and oh so comfortable, I can also see this lipstick fitting a lot of different skin tones. However! Is 'Cool Nude' a must have? Certainly not, '03 Come Naturally' from the same collection and '07 Natural Beauty' from the other collection are very similar shades. I don't mind having all three since these are the kind of colors I reach for daily but I can see how people wouldn't be interested in having many of the same color family in their collection.
Do you like to wear nude lipsticks? Which one is your favorite of this trend edition? Be sure to let me know!
